Straight out from "Knives Out"
To be honest this film reminded me of a not so underrated movie that was released in 2017 named "Murder on the Orient Express" which was based on a book written by the famous author Agatha Christie. A lot of similarities in the character arc made me feel like Benoit Blanc was somewhat similar to Hercule Poirot. Maybe it was just the accent I guess.
Coming back to Knives out, I was having great expectations and to some extent they were fulfilled.
Its not an edge of the seat thriller but it manages to keep you glued to your seat which I feel is pretty difficult these days. The storytelling often brings a big difference in conveying a message depending on how we remember certain intricate details that might lead to plot holes. Now my job here is to provide you guys with more than 1 reason for either watching or not watching a film. With a duration of 130 minutes( 2:10:06 ), the movie seems a little but stretched but trust me its not. The director Rian Johnson who is also the producer as well as the writer of this film has done a great job in finalising such a huge cast. I mean who would have thought that the guy who plays 007 can actually be a sober detective with a french accent and the guy who yielded the mighty Mjölnir in Avengers:Endgame as Captain America could play a rich brat with a foul mouth.
So without any further ado lets get into the plot.
The entire story is about the death of a rich crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) but detective has a feeling that its a cold-blooded murder. On the other hand the entire family is pretty convinced that its a suicide. Benoit Blanc has his eyes on all the family members as suspects and interviews everyone except Ransom Drysdale (Chris Evans). Harlan Thrombey has 3 children viz
Linda Drysdale (Jaime Lee Curtis), Walter "Walt" Thrombey (Michael Shannon) and deceased son Neil.

But wait is the nurse a killer? Was it really a suicide? or Was someone else involved in it ?
Although the plot is quite strong, the ending is a bit predictable. I've reviewed it without giving any major spoilers and its the duty of everyone to do so as well. Refrain from giving out plot leaks and spoilers to anyone as it is annoying.
I'm providing a snippet about the ratings given on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.9/10 on IMDb for those who trust 'em.
