F.R.I.E.N.D.S vs. HIMYM

So lemme clear the air first by saying that both these shows are amazing no doubt about it and comparing them will be a difficult task. These shows have always been on either side of a weighing scale. However I'm still going to jump into this so that people can choose wisely. Although a small piece of advice if you haven't watched either of them you should start with FRIENDS.

Why to start with FRIENDS?

Simple. Its in a way more humorous and less emotional than HIMYM. Does this mean that HIMYM is less humorous?

No. It shows us a better version of reality then FRIENDS. Its shows us that life is not always easy but not that difficult as well.

Basically both shows have this 1 strong similarity that the entire show is based on how each individual reacts. In FRIENDS, it is a tale of 6 FRIENDS and how the life around them turns into motion whereas in HIMYM, Ted, a guy from  group of 5 friends tells his kids about how he met their mother i.e his wife. The cast of both the shows are perfect which makes it even more entertaining.

             

FRIENDS has 10 seasons with precisely 236 episodes and HIMYM has 9 season with 208 episodes. As a normal human being, I've watched FRIENDS 4 times.You can just sit one day and watch an entire season without any break even if you know the story. That significant beauty is what HIMYM lacks because its kinda emotionally heavy and people certainly hate to watch emotional stuff again and again. Here FRIENDS gains a lot of points but we are not keeping any list for points so we can just continue. 

           

Lets jump onto similarities like both of these shows have a guy who is kind of great with woman. That's Joey and Barney. Barney has a freaking playbook for picking woman and he is tremendously great at this game. Better than joey for sure. They even have a geeky nerd guy who ends up being a professor. That's Ross and Ted. They have a common hangout place where all the characters often chill at.In FRIENDS its the famous Central Perk and in HIMYM its Mclaren's pub.

Well there are a lot of similarities but writing about them might end up giving some possible spoilers for those who have still  not watched these Legen "wait for it" Dary Legendary shows.

         

According to me its best if FRIENDS is viewed first as it came earlier then HIMYM and its quite straightforward with less flashbacks. See whichever order you prefer to watch is not important as by the end of these shows you end up liking all the characters and feel bad about why it ended especially in the case of FRIENDS. So if you want to spend some quality time avoiding that gritty violent series that everyone these days prefer, then you can shamelessly jump to either of these without any kind of hesitation. Remember if you've not watched these shows you've not watched anything then.
